From Healing Hands to Handcrafted Art: My Story:

After 48 years as a registered nurse, I hung up my scrubs—but not my dedication to meaningful work. What started as a quiet passion over 35 years ago—woodworking—has become the heart of my second chapter. I now spend my days crafting one-of-a-kind pieces that reflect the care, patience, and precision I practiced in nursing.

Wood has taught me new lessons about imperfection, strength, and simplicity. Offering my creations online is both a way to supplement my income and share a part of myself with others. Being a senior citizen comes with its challenges -especially navigating tech hurdles like setting up a Facebook page- but I’m learning, adapting, and not giving up.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it. Thanks for stopping by!

Letting the Grain Lead: My Favorite Projects

One of my greatest joys as a woodworker is crafting end-grain cutting boards, butcher blocks from exotic hardwoods. I don’t just choose the wood - I listen to it. Each species has its own story, and I let the grain guide the arrangement and pattern, allowing natural beauty to shine through.

Curly maple, in particular, holds a special place in my heart. There’s something almost lyrical about the way its patterns shimmer and dance with the light. I love working with it, not just because it’s stunning but because it feels alive. Every board I make is not only functional, but a piece of Kitchen Art, blending usefulness with organic artistry.

To me, woodworking is more than just measuring and cutting- it’s collaborating with nature. It’s preserving a tree’s story and honoring it in every surface, edge, and joint.
